Description

Restrictions to existing 3D wheel aligners

It is common knowledge that when installing any 3D wheel aligner there are some restrictions on the distance to the front wall. Because of this a 3D wheel aligner installation sometimes becomes impossible.

TechnoVector Group’s new product TechnoVector 6 – has been designed to remove these restrictions and allow owners of small workshops to use 3D technology!

Operating principle

The camera sees measurement targets located on the front wheels and reference targets simultaneously. Camera and target coordinates in space are calculated. These data are used to calculate wheel alignment angles.

As all the measurement system is within the sizes of the lift and is raised and lowered together with the vehicle, adjustment can be performed at any height; posts of the lift do not overlap camera vision range.

Wheel aligner installation

TechnoVector 6 does not require assembly work. The wheel aligner is not attached to a certain lift or a workplace. It is enough just to move the shaft with reference targets, measurement targets and portable camera units – and your wheel aligner is ready to work at a new place.

Disc runout compensation

Disc runout compensation can be performed by rolling the vehicle. It is enough to roll the vehicle by ~ 40cm to perform this procedure.

Techno Vectro 6 wheel aligner is ideal for both big car service centers and small garages that want to use up-to-date 3D wheel aligners even in a small workshop.

Wheel alignment systems include the following basic parts:

  2. Self-centering wheel adapters.
    Self-centering wheel adapters fit a various range of wheel discs from 12″ to 24″ and are compatible with motor car and light truck discs.
  3. Measurement targets.Target boards covered with reflective sheeting do not contain electronic elements and consist of:
    • High-precision image targets. Images are covered with a protective oil-and-petrol resistant layer;
    • Durable impact-resistant housing.
  4. Shaft with reference targets.Shaft with target boards covered with reflective sheeting that do not contain electronic elements. It includes:
    • Shaft to fasten targets;
    • High-precision image targets. Images are covered with a protective oil-and-petrol resistant layer;
    • Durable impact-resistant housing.
  5. Portable camera units.
    HD video cameras allow a quick and reliable determination of target position in space and information transfer to PC over Wi-Fi.
  6. Vector 3D softwareMicrosoft Windows is used as a licensed operating system.
    The three-dimensional program interface allows you to see position and wheel alignment angles on the screen in real time.
    The user-friendly interface and advanced Help and Support System allow even novices to learn how to use the wheel aligner quickly and start working.
    The most up-to-date mathematical algorithms used in the software allow for the slightest image distortions made by the optical system.
    The software includes the advanced report control system.

TechnoVector 6 has been designed to remove the limits when using 3D wheel aligners with lifts and in small workshops:

  • limits on the distance between posts of the lift;
  • limits on the distance to the front wall.

TechnoVector 6 can also be successfully used on the pit!

Installation on the lift

When installing on the lift, the shaft with reference targets should be placed on the platforms of the lift in front, at a distance of 250-650mm from the axis of the front vehicle wheel and should be raised and lowered together with the vehicle.

Installation on the pit

Preparing a new workplace (pit) for TechnoVector 6

To install TechnoVector 6 on the pit, it is necessary to take into account the position of technological recesses for reference targets when you design the pit.

TechnoVector 6 installation on the existing workplace (pit)

Variant 1 (posts with reference targets)

If it is impossible to make technological recesses, reference targets can be placed in posts.

Posts with reference targets installed in them should be mounted at a distance of ~700mm from the front axis of the vehicle wheel.

! This installation variant requires post assembly and reference target correspondence calibration.

The assembly should be performed by a technician from the service center which is authorized to install TechnoVector 6 and 7 and to carry out start-up and adjustment.

Variant 2 (Mounting the shaft with reference targets on the wall)

If there is a main wall in front of the pit, the shaft with reference targets can be mounted on the wall with brackets.

The distance from the front vehicle axis to the wall should not exceed 2m.

The height at which the shaft should be mounted depends on the distance to the wall and can be within 960-1260mm.

This installation variant allows the customer to mount the brackets on the wall; the requirements to the height, distance from the wall to the axis of the front wheel and horizontality of the shaft should be taken into account.
Camera calibration is not required.
